Essential Duties
- Strategically manage and execute the product line
- Communicate with sales and customer service to maintain focus within the product line
- Create offer promotions and other sales incentives to drive the market.
- Anticipate the potential sales growth of the product line both long-term and short-term
- Evaluate current position in the market and recommend adjustments as needed
- Identify any issues with the manufacturing process
- Identify and monitor competitors and market leaders; determine comparable product offering.
- Determine trends of new products and whether they should be considered for product line.
- Provide Purchasing with forecasts and monitor stock levels to determine that adequate stock is available.
- Partner with the Product Development team on new product additions.
- Provide recommendation on items that need to be discontinued.
- Present updates at monthly sales meeting on product training points, YTD promotion reviews, and YTD product line sales performance
- Prepare/present monthly sales analysis reports for management and sales team; report on monthly benchmark goals based on the overall goals for the year
- Provide quarterly review on what is selling well and potential promotions that are needed.
- Develop, communicate, and track the annual strategy for product promotional campaigns
- Provide the sales team with prospect leads to broaden customer base; recommend geographic markets that have potential and follow up on their progress; recommend programs to incentivize the sales team
- Provide the product line technical expertise to the sales team in terms of application and product use; develop/communicate tools for key selling features, etc.
- Gather monthly input from sales team regarding customer feedback on product line
- Travel with sales team as needed to assist in growing the product line; travel to see key distributors when valuable
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in sales, product line management, supply chain or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Ability to work effectively with all supporting function including sales, marketing, purchasing, operations, and management team to advance development projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Some domestic and international travel required (25%)
